(the one starring Bob Hoskins as Mario and John Leguizamo as his brother Luigi)? Well, to answer that question, almost nobody did. After Super Mario Bros. became a critical and commercial fiasco (despite being the first ever live-action feature film based on a video game) upon its release in 1993, the company behind Mario - Nintendo Co., Ltd. - nixed the idea of producing any more film adaptations of their franchises for more than two decades. At least until today. Nearly 30 years later came the big-budget and star-studded The Super Mario Bros. Movie from Nintendo themselves in association with Universal Pictures and Illumination (the companies behind the highest-grossing
